Laundry

ok ..... laundry is something I always seem to struggle with getting organized. Some weeks I feel like I am doing laundry every day. So once I get all caught up, I leave it go because I don't feel like doing it, then I spend all week getting caught up again. It's an endless cycle.

Is there a best way to organize laundry? Do you save it up and do it all at once or do you spread it out and do a little bit each day?

Asking for help

I know these are not mom idea's but today is a weird day - I have a lot of thoughts that I need to get other women's opinion's on.

I wrote a little while ago about delegating .... am I selfish or less of a women because I decided to hire a cleaning service to clean my house?

Now I am asking: is it OK to ask for help?

I have NEVER been one to ask for help - i would rather do it myself then depend on someone else. This is true in both my professional life and personal life. I have always felt like if I ask for help then it's going to make me look like I can't do it myself. I also feel that if I have to ask someone to help, they might do it but they really don't want to because they didn't just offer (rather then ask).

For example: If I am cleaning the house and someone asks, is there anything I can do to help? Why would I say yes? There is obviously things that can be done that would be a big help - if they wanted to help they would just do it, right?

Am I wrong in my thinking??

Delegating

OK so ..... why is it we - as women - feel like we have to do it all and if we don't then we are not as good as someone else?

When I lived "alone" I had Molly Maid clean my house. It was great - I loved coming home or coming out of my office to a CLEAN house. I only had them come every other week but it was still fantastic and trust me I always knew when it was cleaning week :-).

When I got pregnant with Cloe I decided to stop having the house cleaned so I could just save the money. Plus I was at Justin's house most of the time so I really didn't see the need. When we moved in with Justin I told him I would "DO IT ALL"... you know cook, do the laundry and even clean. I didn't want to hire anyone and I didn't want ANY help. Well, let me tell you - I can't take it anymore!! So, I have hired Molly Maid again. Only this time I am having them clean once a week.

I'm just wondering, is it selfish to hire a cleaning lady? In my opinion I would rather pay (I know it's expensive) and have the extra time to cook, do laundry and take care of the kids then to clean the house. Plus - what makes me different from my mom or my mother-in-law who always did IT ALL? Does that make me less of a women because I have hired help versus doing it all myself??

What do you think?

Getting things done

I feel like I am more unorganized now than I have ever been before. Before I had Elijah - 11 years ago - I was extremly organized. Now I feel like the more chaos there is the more normal life is and i do not like it.

How do you get things done? As I am sitting here writting this I just realized i forgot to remind Elijah to take the trash out to the street this morning. Now it's one of his chores that Monday morning he takes the trash out and Monday after school he brings the trash cans back up to the garage. I shouldn't have to remind him but I ALWAYS do and this morning I forgot - so now I am going to have to go do it. It's not a huge deal but this is what I'm talking about .... how do you remember to do everything and get it all done - and get enough rest all at the same time???
